Through the Perilous Fight

This was a fun sweet quick read. I enjoyed the banter, the hockey and the crazy obsession with Mac n cheese. This was fun and very enjoyable to read. Brooke and Jackson were a cute couple and their meeting and courtship were believable.

Brooke and Jackson were a great pair. I adore a black cat gal and a golden retriever guy. The hockey details were so well done, I thought I was at the games. What a fun summer read!

Wow, Jackson and Brooke brought the heat! I dearly loved that the female lead was the grumpy one and the male lead was all golden retriever!

Being a hockey coach’s, daughter, Brooke has had experience dating hockey players and had written them off. But Jackson proved to be too much for her to withstand. With some pretty great team pranks and wonderfully witty banter, this was a really fun read! Loved it!

This was a sweet, fun book to read. I loved the characters and how I just felt that I was part of the story. There is such chemistry between Jackson and Brooke. Watching them get to know each other while exploring our nation’s capital and celebrating the 250th Anniversary of this country was truly enjoyable. I’ve been to a few hockey games in my life but never became a diehard fan, but Through the Perilous Fight gives you the perspective of the game from the players side and really helps to get a feel for the game. We also get a behind-the-scenes view of Brooke’s job as chef and the way things run in the kitchen. Watching Jackson and Brooke go from a meet on a prank to finding their forever love was truly a joy to read. I highly recommend!

If opposites really do attract, Brooke and Jackson prove it in the most delightful way. Brooke, a talented chef who has sworn off hockey players—and relationships altogether—finds herself responsible for feeding hundreds of people during a summer hockey tournament. Enter Jackson, the golden boy of the two teams, whose bright smile and easygoing charm are impossible to ignore.

Watching these two tiptoe around each other's very different personalities was both compelling and endearing. Brooke is methodical, driven, and cautious, while Jackson leaps first and figures things out later. They're complete opposites, and I loved every minute of it.

When Jackson realizes he wants far more than the three-week fling they agreed to, his thoughts made me smile: "I do really need this meal to go well, as this feels like our hinge date, the one where Brooke will really decide if I get more than three weeks or… not." But my absolute favorite quote comes a little later: "My hands are sweating. Not the normal, I-just-skated-three-periods-and-I’ve-got-to-get-these-gloves-off sweating. More like My-Life-Is-About-To-Change-And-I-Might-Puke-Cheeseburgers-Everywhere sweating."
Jackson's humor is irresistible, and his heart is even better. If you enjoy opposites-attract romances, witty banter, lovable heroes, heartfelt emotion, and plenty of laughs along the way, you'll love Through the Perilous Fight.
