Getting the one he loves

The Cowboy Who Worked Late is another addition to the Three Rivers Ranch series. This time it is Henry's and Angel's story. Henry had left Three Rivers Ranch to go to school to become a farrier. It was a job that could be put to good use at his parent's business Courage Reins. However, he needed a year apprenticeship to graduate. He had been brought back to Lone Star Ranch where they had a boarding facility and horses that needed shoeing. It also was ran by the beautiful Angel that Henry had a crush on since he met her. But, the owner of Lone Star Ranch, Bard had a no dating employee rule and that included his daughter! Even though Angel had a crush on Henry she too was following the rule. When Henry and Levi was to go to Three Rivers Ranch for the weekend and Levi got a stomach virus Angel came to check on him. Levi told Angel it was nothing serious but she was at her breaking point and fell into Henry's arms crying from all of her responsibilities both family and ranch 24/7. Henry tells Angel she needs to get away from Lone Star and go to Three Rivers Ranch with him for the weekend. When they returned they told everyone they were not dating, that Angel needed to get away from the stress of her job. They had talked about dating secretly but Henry wanted it to be out in the open, but, to keep Angel happy they met in secret places on the ranch and at the grocery store in town for lunch and eventually Henry started slipping over to Angel's cabin to see each other after dark.

Henry worried about April so they discussed that she could rearrange the employees and make a few new positions to take some of the stress off of her while still leaving her the boss over the ranch. She talked to her father about it and he thought it would be a good idea. So Angel, Bard and Justin made the choices for the new positions, with Henry being chosen for a captain position by Justin and Bard. When Henry ran straight over to Angel's after the announcements and grabbed her in a big hug and kissed on her front porch, it gave away their secret when her father and brother drove up. Henry met with Angel's parents to spill their secret and then after roll call one morning they both told all the guys they were dating and had been prior to the new employee booklet. Most all was happy with the decision except one that was very vocal on Henry's team that felt he was skipped over. Henry was handling it as it wasn't Angel's place when Bard walked over to see if Henry had it and seen he was the man for Angel. But, Angel was worried about the backlash from their sneaking around for months and her remaining the boss of these men. If she could not be the ultimate boss of Lone Star, who would run it now that Bard had released it over to Angel?

Secret Romance!

I can’t get enough of this series about the younger generation from Three Rivers Ranch that is grown up and coming into its own. This book features Henry Marshall, son of Lt. Pete Marshall whose story was shared in Third Time’s The Charm, a book from an earlier series. Henry was always a handsome charmer who has finally matured and grown into a still handsome and charming man that has found his purpose and is good at his job and great at leading others. When he sees his boss Angel, who is taking over Lone Star Ranch for her elderly father, burst into tears because of stress and exhaustion due to the heavy family and work responsibilities she carries, Henry is determined to help her take a break and find a way to make life more manageable. And his genuine concern combined with some serious chemistry between them made for a delicious clandestine romance as they find ways to meet secretly due to the ranch’s policy that prohibits dating among ranch personnel. No spoilers—you need to read the book! I also love the updates on other members of the community that are woven throughout the entire story. It’s great to see relationships evolve and deepen among the younger generation and to catch up a bit with the older characters I’ve grown to know and love from past books. I just loved it! Highly recommend! I received a complimentary advance copy and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions.

Another winner!

Another winner! This one was special to read. It had a lot of real, believable parts in it. The relationship that Henry had with Angel, could have been very tricky, since she is the bosses daughter, but she now runs the ranch, so times they are a changing. There is some friction in the beginning, but things go smoothly. I especially loved the interaction with his family, so supportive, and that is so needed these days

Love going back to Three Rivers!

Henry Marshall has a college degree, but what he really wants is to complete a master farrier program so he can work with the horses he loves. Angel White is thrown into managing the families boarding stable and ranch when her brother that was expected to take over operations is in a life changing accident. Angel is Henry’s boss and the ranch has a no dating policy but when the spark is there you just can’t escape. As Angel becomes overwhelmed with her responsibilities Henry helps her to see it’s OK to reinvent the system her father put in place years ago so she has the help she needs. Of course, they fall in love! I love that all of the characters in these books look to God for their strength and help in knowing how to live every day. There is a strong sense of love, family, and commitment within the extended families. It’s always great to catch up with all the familiar faces in Three Rivers. If you like clean, inspirational, cowboy love stories, don’t miss it!

Another Three Rivers hit

I have read every book from every series that is centered around the town of Three Rivers. Each book just gets better and better. Henry is such a good man, he has been a little wild in his past and feels he let his parent's down. He attended college but decided engineering wasn't where his heart was, he loves to work with horses. In this book Harry is attending ferrier school and gets an appreticship at Lone Star, one of the premier horse boarding stables in the area. Angel has begun running Lone Star as her father steps back from the day to day operations. While Henry has known her for over a year a realtionship with Angel is forbidden by the rules her father put in the employee handbook. This story takes twists and turns but it is just a wonderful story of finding yourself and finding love. I couldn't put it down, wonderful book by a great author.
