Book 2: The Cowboy Who Looked Again (Three Rivers Romance™)

I have read quite a number of Elana's books and have enjoyed them all

Each one of us has a life story, shaped by the experiences and days that we have lived. And to some degree, each new day is a chance to decide where our story could or should go next.
Link did this. In spite of the strong feelings Link had for Misty and though it was very difficult, he had the strength to end things with her. Both of them grew because of it.
Misty did this. She knew that she had hurt Link and she realized that she wanted to be with him and allow their relationship to grow and become serious.
Now they are back together. Each of them recognizing the effect of things that happened while they were growing up and how those things continued to control what they think, how they act and react to situations. They know they need to change and they know God can help and guide them to change. And He does.
As a reader each additional story in a series by Liz Isaacson pulls you further in to the family. You get to know more about each of them. How they interact, support and care for one another. How they gather together to celebrate special times and persevere through hard times. How their love binds them all and anyone that’s part of their lives together. Oh, that we ALL could live, care about and love the people around us like our friends in Three Rivers. Oh, that we ALL could trust God to help us. What a difference that would make in the world today.
I enjoyed the game that Link and Misty play “Remember the time…..” and how it helps them to communicate and talk over some hard things. Also, Links willingness and gentleness in looking away and waiting until Misty is ready before he looks again.

Truly enjoyed Linc journey after meeting him in The Mechanics of Mistletoe. The characters were developed which allowed the reader an opportunity to get to know the adult Linc and walk the road with him in his love relationship with Misty. I loved the updates on the rest of the family members.

Liz Isaacson does a great job at interweaving so many stories and keeping us interested, while not giving spoilers to anything you haven't read yet. We saw Link and Misty in the immediately preceding book and link was a little boy in a book from a few years ago but now he's a grown up cowboy and figuring out what he wants. Misty has had a hard life and it seems it's about to get harder with an electrical fire that starts in her apartment. I love how things always work out, even with roadblocks and troubles along the way. I especially enjoyed their inside storytelling jokes and how much family means in these books. Clean and enjoyable read.

We first met Link in an earlier book by this author. I think he was only 8 years old at the time. That book was called The Mechanics of Mistletoe and has always been one of my favorites! It was so neat to read about Link again, as a grown man!

Link and Misty had a bit of a tumultuous past leaving him brokenhearted. Coming together for the second time, things are different. I absolutely love their inside jokes and how they walked each other through such difficult circumstances - Link grappling with the fact that he’s not a Glover by blood and Misty struggling with her own family issues.

There are so many books in this series that I’ve truly lost count. However, the author does a masterful job creating each story as a standalone, but giving you glimpses into the rest of the family. This story was amazing, and I sure hope that Mitch gets his own story soon!
