I enjoyed this clean cowboy romance about Tarr and Briar falling in love as he tries to break down her walls.
Another fantastic story! This one doesn’t disappoint! Who wouldn’t want a man like Tarr? He nursed Briar back to health! He listens and anticipates her wants and needs. He is patient and loving! 100% Swoon worthy!
Tarr Olsen is a former champion bull rider whose career ended when he was injured. He and his friend now run a farm training people to compete in the rodeo. Briar Prescott is a vet technician at the same farm. She had been a stunt rider for the rodeo and had a career ending injury. Her family abandoned her and her self confidence and trust is also injured. Tarr wears her down into agreeing to a date. Tarr is living in his RV until his house is built, but when winter hits and he has no water or heat, Briar offers him her guest room as long as he needs it. After he moves his RV next to the arena he has the necessities. This book is a great addition to this series, and shows how the characters grow, adapt and change.
Brair is a GREAT vet, but she has a very prickly personality. She is great with animals but she feel unworthy of love, and she has been burned too many times. I feel so bad for her. Then there is Tarr he is a forced into retirement due to injury bull rider, despite this, he trains the animals at the Hammond farm and works with one of his closest friends, he has a sunny and kind personality. So opposites attract kind of deal. He sees something more in Brair and he can't stop thinking about her. With a lot of situations that occur and them being put together a sort of friendship grows, and they both need to heal and deal with their baggage to be able to be together. It is a beautiful story that also shows how we ARE ALL worthy of love no matter the past. This was a wonderful feel good story and I love that Liz does not shy away from hard topics and her characters all have messy lives. 5+ starts from me.
This might be strange to say, but I love that the characters in this author’s books have some “messy“ in their lives. Briar has quite a bit of baggage – from family issues to occupational hazards, she’s been burned on many levels. I loved watching the character development along with the relationship development. Tarr’s patience and perseverance were admirable.
One of my favorite parts was the spoken daily truths that they asked each other about. I felt like those often helped ground them, especially in times of turmoil or confusion. Another great installment to this series!
